Everyone here at Sundance has respect and reverence for the act of voting and shaping our democracy with this voice. We tend to steer clear of election day politics in a public forum except when the choices are so very clear with regard to renewable energy. And friends- it is a clear choice.
We hope that you will consider casting your vote for Roy Cooper as our next Governor of North Carolina. We’ve had the chance to meet Roy and speak with him, and we think that you just might like him as much as we did! (On August 31, The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy hosted Roy Cooper in Asheville to hear from our region’s clean energy advocates and business owners.)
Roy was born and raised in Nash County, attending public schools and earning the prestigious Morehead Scholarship to UNC-Chapel Hill for college. Like many of us, Roy chose public service because he loves this state and feels that he can make a difference.
Roy Cooper has been our Attorney General since 2000 and has a proven record of working to protect the interest of North Carolinians. Unlike our current Governor, Roy Cooper is invested in protecting our environment, believing our ability to have a strong economy and a healthy environment go hand-in-hand. Roy is committed to renewable energy and wants to see North Carolina regain our status as leader in this technology. Roy is not beholden to Duke Energy and realizes the compromises of continuing to prop up fossil fuel burning. He is committed to protecting our water, air and other natural resources.
And lest you think we are biased, we like what we hear from Roy about his plans for education, job creation, small business, health care, and more. But don’t take our word on it- head on over to Roy Cooper for North Carolina and see what you think yourself.
Let’s take our beautiful state back. Vote for Roy Cooper in November.
