We have a brand new field technician at Sundance and we think you might enjoy getting to know him. We are shining our September spotlight on Alan Lanka!
Alan is a September baby, born in Marietta, Georgia at St. Joseph’s Hospital, the third of four children. Alan has two older brothers and a younger sister. Their parents, Anne and Brad Lanka, raised the Lanka kids in a small suburb outside of Marietta. There was lots of time spend outside in nature, with friends. Alan now lives with his wife in Asheville, where they enjoy all of the abundance of fun and beauty that comes with living in western North Carolina.
Like many Sundancers, Alan graduated with a B.S. in Appropriate Technology from Appalachian State University and is drawn to work in the field of renewable energy for the “great amount of positive change it can achieve.” Alan believes that decentralized energy generation via solar, wind, geothermal, and micro-hydro provides clean sources of energy that empower the owner while decreasing reliance on foreign powers.
