As this home has a large south-facing wall and several different roof angles, the solar electric system was laid out in four arrays for a total capacity of 5 kW. The most eye-catching serves as a 35 foot long awning; the other three arrays were installed on west and south-facing roofs, with the appropriate orientation and tilt angles to optimize performance. Enphase microinverters made this unique configuration possible.
