Empowering Western NC and Upstate SC with Solar Since 1995

Looking Forward to a Great 2024!

Sundance Power Systems thanks all staff, customers, vendors and community partners for their help in making 2023 a great year for renewable energy in our area. As we begin our 29th year of serving the community, Sundance looks back at a year of growth and expansion.

Service Department Thrives

2023 was a year of transition for our Service Department as several long-term technicians moved on to new careers and new ones joined the team. Evan Shinn came on board as our Service Manager and brought a wealth of experience with hydronic heating systems with him. We also added technicians with proficiency in solar system repair and maintenance, adding knowledge and more diverse experience to the team. Additionally, our Communications Coordinator, Abbye McHugh, has streamlined scheduling and works closely with the Service Department team. This enabled us to all but eliminate our backlog of service calls and provide better customer service in the community.

Battery Storage Keeps Growing

Sundance has deep experience with all types of battery storage and that is a good thing as these components are growing rapidly in popularity! Lithium ion, lithium ion phosphate, partial charge carbon (AGM), sealed lead acid, flooded (wet) lead acid – these are all different battery types that are used in battery storage systems and Sundance knows how to utilize each type. The newer lithium batteries are becoming the most frequently used type of battery due to increased efficiency and generally better pricing.

Commercial Solar Expands

Sundance has always designed and installed larger-scale solar systems for businesses, schools, churches, and more. Brian Hollister, our Vice President and Director of Business Development, has designed complex systems throughout the region. Brian brings extensive experience to every design and his knowledge of solar is unsurpassed in our area. Check out this gallery to see some of our ‘commercial’ systems from 2023, including Hanvey Engineering & Design, GNT North America, Reuters YMCA, and Grace Lutheran Church:
