The North Carolina Solar Center

Created in 1988, the North Carolina Solar Center serves as a clearinghouse for solar and other renewable energy programs, information, research, technical assistance, and training for the citizens of North Carolina and beyond. Through its programs and services, the Solar Center seeks to stabilize energy costs for consumers, stimulate local economies, reduce dependence on foreign fuels, and mitigate the environmental impacts associated with fossil fuels.

North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association 

Founded in 1978, The North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association is a non-profit membership organization of individuals, businesses, government and non-profits interested in sustainable energy. PV Watts Performance Calculator

Offered by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, this tool calculates how much energy will be produced by photovoltaic solar panels in a given geographical area by taking into account the amount of sun in the area and average electric rates. Researchers at the NREL developed PVWATTS to permit non-experts to quickly obtain performance estimates for grid-connected PV systems.

The Climate Trust
