Step 1 - Architectural Plan Review

The first step in the radiant floor design process is to review the architectural plans including window and door schedules and associated thermal properties of walls, windows and ceilings. A site visit is necessary for a retrofitted system on an existing structure. During the visit, the most suitable location for the system, the components, and the zoning options will be determined.

Step 2 - Heat Loss Analysis

Based upon the architectural plans, window and door schedules, and R-values of walls and ceilings, a Heat Loss Analysis of the structure is calculated. The Heat Loss Analysis determines the overall heat load, the size of the boiler, and how much heat will be needed to sufficiently heat each area of the structure.
